Changing Lives, Pushing Boundaries, Striving for Excellence:
The Power of Critical Care

Conference Theme

Every day critical care nurses embody the potential to make a difference in the lives of their patients. Through knowledge and skill, compassion and caring, critical care nurses change patient’s lives through assessment, implementation, and evaluation of an extensive range of care for critically ill and injured patients. The delivery of exceptional care, however, requires anticipation, exploration, and foresight. Utilization of existing evidence-based practice, the incorporation of critical care nursing research, and re-thinking our current “ways of doing” will push known boundaries in the critical care environment. Without question, the quest for exceptional care is of the highest priority. The result is a complex and consistently changing dynamic between technology and treatment, research and best practice, and most importantly, care of the patient and their families, all delicately interwoven by the critical care nurse. Dynamics 2010 will inspire, facilitate confidence, and empower all nurses who care for critical care patients. It’s about changing lives, pushing boundaries, striving for excellence. This is the power of critical care nursing.
