Manitoba Chapter Recognition Award
CACCN Manitoba Chapter Recognition Award
The CACCN Manitoba Chapter Recognition Award was established February 2009 to award three graduates, per graduating class, of the Winnipeg Critical Care Nursing Education Program with paid memberships to CACCN for the upcoming year. The award was established to provide an opportunity for further professional and educational development.
Criteria:
- Successful completion of the WCCNEP
- Currently holds a 0.7 EFT or greater in one of the critical care units within the WRHA
- Consistently conducts themselves in a professional manner
- Role models commitment to professional self-development, life long learning and collaborative team skills within the inter-professional health care team
- Has developed and expanded their clinical knowledge base and readily integrates change and new learning to practice
- Demonstrates an ability to anticipate complications and changes in patient condition and intervene in a timely manner
- Advocates and develops a plan of care that consistently considers the patient and family and ensures they receive the best care possible
Nominations
An application received from a WCCNEP instructor or a member of the healthcare team describing the nominee’s clinical excellence and expertise is required. The nomination letter needs to include concrete clinical examples outlining how the nominee meets the above criteria and demonstrates clinical excellence in practice.
Selection
Each nomination will be anonymously reviewed by the Manitoba Chapter CACCN awards committee. If any of the Manitoba Chapter Executive is involved with the WCCNEP, they will abstain from reveiwing and voting on the award winners. The successful recipient(s) will be awarded a membership certificate at the graduation ceremony; her/his name and picture will be published in the Manitoba Chapter newsletter and web site, and will receive their official membership in the mail from National office. The awards committee reserves the right to withhold the award if no candidate meets the criteria.
