Welcome to the Montreal Chapter of the CACCN!
Known as the gem of the St. Lawrence, the Paris of North America, la Ville aux cent clochers, Montreal was founded by French explorers more than 350 years ago. As one of the oldest cities on the continent, its history adds a rich backdrop to its vibrant multicultural life. Montreal’s notoriously cold winters are followed by warm summers enlivened by festivals, street fairs, and innumerable terrace cafés where locals and visitors eat, drink and socialize.

The Montreal Chapter of the CACCN is committed to supporting critical care nurses in their attainment of excellence in nursing practice by
- increasing awareness and implementing standards of critical care nursing practice
- providing educational opportunities
- providing networking opportunities
- identifying and addressing political and professional issues
- collaborating with other professional organizations
Members of the Montreal Chapter work in partnership with seven teaching hospitals affiliated to the Faculty of Medicine of McGill University: the Montreal General Hospital (MGH), the Royal Victoria Hospital (RVH), the Montreal Children’s Hospital, the Montreal Neurological Institute (MNI), the Montreal Chest Institute, the Jewish General Hospital and St. Mary’s Hospital.
The MGH, the RVH, the Montreal’s Children Hospital, the MNI and the Montreal Chest Institute belong to the McGill University Health Center (MUHC). Located in the heart of Montreal, the MUHC is one of Quebec’s major health care centers, world-renowned for its patient care and advances in nursing research.

The Jewish General Hospital is a 637-bed McGill University acute care teaching hospital with over 1100 nurses on staff.
With close to 500 nurses, St. Mary’s has a friendly and family oriented atmosphere while offering highly-specialized medical care.
