Canadian Registered Nurses Examination

The recent announcement from ten of the provincial nursing regulators regarding the Registered Nursing Examination has created concern across the country. As you are likely aware, the Canadian Nurses Association has been the provider of the Canadian Registered Nurse Examination (CRNE) for over forty years. On December 2, 2011, ten of the RN regulatory bodies that currently use the CRNE selected the National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN), a US company, in response to a Request for Proposal (RFP) to partner with for the development of a new state-of-the-art, computer-adaptive entry exam for future RN candidates.
What can you do? If you are concerned with the potential loss of the CRNE, please send an email or a letter to your provincial/territorial regulatory body expressing your concerns and requesting additional information.
