Compensation    -   $108,357.60 to $135,452.85 per annum

Job Summary
Reporting to the Vice President, Patient Centred Care and Chief Nursing Executive, the Director of Critical Care in collaboration with the respective physician leaders, guides the delivery of Critical Care services and Respiratory Therapy across London Health Sciences Centre (LHSC). 

The Program provides a comprehensive array of critical care services across Victoria Hospital (VH) and University Hospital (UH) as well as oversight of the corporate Respiratory Therapy program. Specific elements of the program include:

  • Critical Care Trauma Units (CCTC) VH 
  • Medicine and Surgical ICU at UH 
  • Cardiac Services Recovery Unit (CSRU) at UH
  • Respiratory Therapy Program

The Director has accountability for the operational and administrative management of LHSC’s Critical Care Services and Respiratory Therapy Program in alignment with the overall mission, vision, and values of the organization. The role works closely with regional stakeholders and community supports to optimize delivery of services and transitions in care.

  • Masters Degree in a Health Discipline or Health/Business Administration
  • Current Certificate of Registration from a college recognized under the Regulated Health Professions Act
  • Eight (8) to ten (10) years of progressive management experience in an acute care hospital, preferably leadership in Critical Care in an academic hospital
  • Demonstrated leader of leaders; capable of developing other leaders to their full potential
  • Demonstrated business expertise including management of multi-million dollar operating and capital budgets
  • Demonstrated track record of delivering results with excellent financial and quality management, project management and risk management experience
  • Fluent and computer literate with computer systems such as email and Microsoft Office applications (MS Word, Excel & PowerPoint)
  • Demonstrated behaviours supporting LHSC’s Core Values of Respect, Trust and Collaboration
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to patient and staff safety at LHSC
  • Demonstrated participatory and values-based leadership and a proven track record for developing and sustaining healthy work environments and effective teams while leading in a performance-driven culture
